It's a very sad game now from a new players point... I started playing a new character with a new account because they didn't raise the Level cap for over. I would say ten seasons as a guess the story line makes no sense, when you arrive at the tower shaxx is telling you your a hero of the red war..and you were just resurrected less than 5 missions ago.. 😢..they really screwed this up by vaulting material... they should have just separated the new lights from the rest of destiny until they caught up on the story line..so there would be like 3 games running at thr same time but merge at the tower or pvp or strikes and raids only available from story progression..

Unfortunately so many games have been made already that is almost impossible to launch a game without it looking like another one from years ago or even today. Just look at the random games that are made goat simulator, power wash simulator, there are no unique idea's. Should the creators of honey I shrunk the kids sue the creators of grounded? Where do you think they got their inspiration from? Sometimes we need to listen to a song, play a game, watch a movie that has been created already for us to get our vision.

i've come back to Destiny two or three times and everytime its the same story, load up the game, get thrown into a random cutscene with characters you may or may not know, do a random mission with/for those characters, get thrown onto the season pass moon base, look at the quest log, quit the game, go to youtube and learn how to play the game again

Love the game, but I came back to play the newest update, and I'm so lost with what or where to go. Like everything on my world map is glowing all at the same time. Like I want to fallow the story in order but at this point I'm lost.

what's so interesting is that all of us veteran players HAD to learn all of this stuff at some point, and it WAS in the game until they removed it. I think of sparrows and how to use them. Why would they have such a bad oversight on so many of these things for new players?

I started playing on Xbox when the Beyond Light DLC launched and it was included with Gane Pass, I played for the month that the subscription lasted and when it expired, I was surprised I could still play it bc I had no idea it was free to play (the base game), I paid for Game.Pass like one month later again and continued playing some missions about Rasputin waking up I think, then stopped playing for a year and when came back, all those content was gone and the intro were different, then it was removed from Game Pass, finally last year, I bought the Legacy Collection because I thought it included ALL the previous campaigns and I wanted to catch up with the story from the very beginning just to find out I will never be able to play the Red War or the Forsaken Campaign.

Friends all told me that this was an amazing game and since I liked Halo I would love Destiny... and I quite after 2 days. Too many Menus and I didn't know WTF I was doing without friends online to guide me but they worked different shifts and seldomly had time to play with me and IM New kind of a burden to play with they have been playing for years.... I started the Game close to Halloween did the event to get a gun in the event but did that because friends told me the gun would help me but they stopped playing as much with me and I didn't know what to do after went to a PVP match because game told me about it I thought I got a powerful Halloween gun but got my ass handed to me fast I wanted to know how I was getting so destroyed.... so I googled how to get said guns, they had and it required SOOOO much Grind off-putting to say the least... I tried some missions and got lost... In menus... the feature I hate most about the game ITS like 70% menus and like 20% fun gunplay and 10% off too much extra crap that is complex making the menus worse! Yeah I wont be returning to the game. Found Helldivers 2 instead and Bungie is focused on the New IP Marathon is getting all the love Bungie doesn't care about Destiny anymore and are milking it all they can. Felt that way when I quit and I still feel that way now.

I remember everyone telling me in the 2 week that Xur wasn’t seeking anything good but I thought the GHorn was cool and I thought the Wolfpack perk would be great so I bought it and those I played with laughed at me until the VOG when they saw what I could do with it and the damage it did then they all wanted it and word got out more then everyone wanted it. lol

D2 suffers from some of the same issues as WoW after having years of updates and content available to players. For new players, or even returning players, they just bombard you with way too much information early on. They really need like two versions of the UI that you can toggle between, likes a beginner / starter UI that only shows you the things you've learned so far or whatever is currently relevant so the UI slowly fills out as you go (and that can be reset if you're returning after a long hiatus), and then another version with the entire interface. I came back to the game about a year ago and was completely lost. No idea what planet I should be on, no idea what content I had access to, the UI is filled with confusing menus that have been changed since I last played, messages are popping up that things have been removed and a bunch of materials I had are no longer being used. Treat me nicely, Destiny, ease me into it. Don't just raw-dog it.

i started playing again after a extremely long break (never really advanced much in the story) and got hit with a cinematic killing off someone who was supposed to be important and who I had never seen before so it had 0 emotional shock. Kept playing, doing story being very confused. I asked my friend who plays how could I continue the story I was doing before because the game just gave me quests for the NEW stuff. He told me, and after a bit I got a cinematic introducing the character i saw being killed earlier, so I felt 0 need to pay attention to him cause i knew he'd die. I stopped playing after that. The game just assumed you had done all the story before and sent you on the way with the new stuff, which is stupid imo.

Hello, returning player here. I played for maybe 1-2 hours at the start of destiny 2, PVP only, I can't remember a thing about the game and recently a friend asked if I would play so I did. The game is fun, the games gunplay is fine guns have an aim assist state that I do not like. Guns and armour can look sick. Issue 1. I played for 4 days totalling 20ish hours maybe. The little bike thing you can drive I only figured out was a thing when I saw someone randomly spawn the thing while I was running a marathon to my objective. I got a skin for it and equipped it and when I went back the the tower I saw the basic ship so I was mad that it didn't change but it turned out it wasn't a ship skin it was a bike skin. Issue 2. While playing with my friend he said he got given 1810 stuff and I was gob smacked I was low level weak, I was annoyed so I took to google and saw a reddit post saying shaxx in the hall of champions gives you gear FOR NOTHING. Why? the point of the game is to get better power level items why am I getting given this for no reason. I did take it because my friend was steam rolling all the quests and I couldn't keep up. Issue 3. Builds, I now have 1810 stuff, what do I do now. I want to look cool but I also want to fight big bosses not do some stupid little quest that isn't that fun anyway. but some websites 10 top build are for weapons you will get dropped randomly. How do I make a build that I want when the chances of me getting this 1 exotic is 1 in how ever many exotics are in the game, and the old exotics don't drop? So I am stuck with some dog weapon and armour that I get from missions? so big bosses are useless as I can't compete. Issue 4. Fashion, I see all these beasts walking round looking INSANE and each 1 of my armour is different and I look dumb. and if I want to have X build how then can I do my fashion? do I spawn in the tower and put my fashion kit on then when I go to fight I swap it while traveling???? Issue 5. It throws info at you left and right. Red border weapons you can get them to craft weapons. I can craft weapons WTF. You can infuse Items i click on it and it beeps and flashes red. SO I CAN'T INFUSE why can I buy a weapon from a guy in the tower and not make it better!!!!!! STUPID. then someone said you have to hold f? why the F**K doesn't it tell me. Or I get a mission go here, WHERE THE F**K IS THAT I have 8 planets I can go to them all but I can't do anything in them as I don't have DLC, why do I have access if I can't do anything in them! UIs! why do I have the inventory UI and then a travel UI? why do I need all this! why is there buttons at the bottom, left and right to see sub menus in a F**King submenu! All my issues can be fixed with a BRAND new Starter quest line. 10 quests or more outlining everything. First weapons, you get a bag of crap gun, then a better and better and a legendary then an exotic, and at each pick up is says, this is a common, basic not good, Uncommon Better then common THIS IS WHY, Rare This is better then Uncommon THIS IS WHY, legendary This is better then Rare THIS IS WHY. this is an exotic THIS IS BETTER THEN LEGENDARY THIS IT WHY!. Then Traveling, Give me a new ship and when explaining stuff like where to go and what to click don't put a little flashing box grey out my screen apart from a box round what I need to click. Get me to change my ship how to travel, how to use my bike how to spawn it and it has a BOOOOOOOSST. Then tell me about leveling, each cap and how to get them. then tell me about the artifact, again unlock it temporally and show me how to use it and the point. Then say you will unlock this when you reach this goal. Other mission can be about currencies, what is glimmer what it's for, what an engram is, what an upgrade module is EVERYTHING, and explain. While explaining legendary shards tell me how to get them BUT NOT TO DISAMBLE ALL MY GEAR. I watched multiple videos on how to do this, how to get here, it took time but I learnt a lot and now I bought the current DLC and the BP, I also bought other DLC I really do like this game it is so fun. I will buy the next dlc I will play it. but to get anywhere you need to either join Shadow Destiny's Discord server (I asked so many questions I don't think I'd still be playing if I didn't join that discord) or watch multiple video. but most are out of date.

I used to enjoy Destiny, but after Europa I left, I will never return to Destiny 2, 1. I wouldn’t know where to start 2. I’m not paying hundreds £ buying vaulted content I will never get to play. 3. Games to big, they should start a fresh with a spin off Destiny 3

I played D1 from start to finish. After the train wreck that was D2 life cycle I never got into it or I didn’t have the money to want buy into it when it started. I tried jumping back in to D2 last year and had so many of the same issues that Soup had, and I finished D1 and it’s DLCs! The game feels so out of touch with newer players, while you can pick up D1 and replay it all with relative ease. That’s my opinion though Edit: If Soup has not played D1 it would be interesting to see if he has a better introduction to the game playing on previous game in the series. Compare the two introductions

The new player experience is so awful, if they dont actually put effort into remaking all of it then new people will NEVER get into this game, and I had 700 hours from red war all the way to forsaken, then stopped playing untill the middle of witch queen and getting smacked in the face with *everything* new (and the knowledge that the forsaken campaign is just gone, reduced to atoms), made me lose my sanity as i had to relearn everything i knew about armor and learn exactly how armor stats work. Genuienly rough, i lost my shit meeting CHAMPIONS for the first time. I now have 2k hours and its still rough....

You can also fire your weapons in no weapon areas by bringing out your ghost, spamming fire and putting him away
